Fantasy Rangers

...

“Whoa!!” screams Teru as he landed roughly on the grass. He lies down for a moment. A big and looking grumpy cat approaches and sniffs him.

“I’m fine, Pi,” told Teru to the cat. Pi mew. Slowly Teru rises and cleans some grass sticking at his body. Pi watches him.

“So, this is the place where I can find the one with power,” mumbles him. He looks at Pi and smile.

“Let’s do our best, Pi,” said him. Pi mews again. They start to walk around the place. It’s actually a school, and the way Teru dresses makes him look very out of place.

“I guess I wear the wrong cloth, Pi. People are staring at me,” mumble Teru. Pi only mew, not really signing does the cat agrees with Teru or not.

...

They keep walking until arrive in a vast area. Teru isn’t aware that an arrow is heading fast at him.

“Watch out!” a girl screams. She bumps into Teru. The arrow crosses over Teru’s head and get into the dart not far from him.

“Are you alright?” ask the girl.

“Yes, thank you for saving me,” said Teru fixing his cap.

“Don’t mention it,” Teru looks at the girl and stun. The girl is very beautiful and cute. She sits politely in front of Teru. He quickly follows her. The girl laughs swiftly.

“Are you a new student?” ask the girl looking at Teru’s outfit. Teru follows her look.

“Ah, yes. I’m new. I don’t know the way around,” said Teru nervously.

“I see. I’ll be happy to take you around,” offer the girl.

“Ah, thank you,” Teru bends his head. The girl slowly rises and gives her hand to Teru. Teru stuns and quickly takes the hand.

“I’m Hizaki. What’s your name?”

“Teru. I’m Teru,” introduce Teru.

“It’s very nice to meet you, Teru. Hopefully we can get along,” Hizaki smiles. Teru also smile awkwardly.

“Yes,” suddenly Pi mews. Hizaki looks at Pi and quickly become excited.

“Is it your cat, so cute!!” said Hizaki and takes Pi inside her embrace.  

“Yes, the name is Pi,” said Teru.

“It’s a cute name. Hello, Pi. I’m Hizaki. Nice to meet you,” Hizaki shakes one of Pi’s leg. Pi mews again and snuggle bellow Hizaki’s neck. Hizaki laughs because of the tickle. Hizaki then takes Teru looking around the school. Pi walks before them.

“There are also clubs you can join: baseball club, basketball, fencing, archery, kendo, music, and art,” told Hizaki.

“What club does Hizaki joins?” ask Teru. The question makes Hizaki still.

“I was with archery,” said Hizaki slowly.

“You aren’t with the club anymore?” Hizaki shakes her head.

“No, I’ve resigned,” Hizaki looks outside the window. They were standing at the hall.

“May I know why?” ask Teru gently. Hizaki keeps still. She takes a deep breath.

“Do you believe in supernatural power?” ask Hizaki.

“Eh?” ask Teru surprise. Hizaki laughs swiftly.

“Never mind, it’s a stupid talking,”

“No, no, I don’t mean that. Actually, I’m interested with it, I really do. I do believe in supernatural power,” said Teru. Hizaki stares at him, checking either Teru is saying the truth or not. He seems to be honest.

“I don’t really know what to call it. I…I have this power…to see what’s in the far…so I can see clearly the target, as if it’s very close. I also can sense the way the air flowing, so I know when the right time to release the arrow. Only me who can sense it, neither of my friends can,” explain Hizaki.

“When the other members know about it, their behaviors have change. So I decide to resigned from the club,” Hizaki stills. Slowly she looks at Teru. His eyes are glistering.

“Are you alright?” ask Hizaki surprise.

“I can’t believe that I found you,” said Teru slowly.

“We finally found her, Pi!” told Teru. Pi mews.

“What do you mean?” ask Hizaki confused.

“We’ve been looking for you. I’ve been looking for you, the one with the power. You are one of them,” said Teru starts to become excited.

“What power? I don’t understand,”

“Your power, the power to see far beyond, the ability to predict the flowing of the wind, it’s the power. The power we need for the battle,” Hizaki becomes more confused.

“I also have the power,” told Teru.

“My power is to memorize what I’ve seen on the first sight. It’s some kind like photographic sight. I also can make weapon from papers,” Teru pulls out a book from his bag. 

“What I have and also what you have is the power to protect people, to protect the world,”

“I’ve come from the future for you, to find the Fantasy Rangers,” said Teru.

“I’ve been sent here to look for the rangers. We will team up and fight together protecting the world from the bad guys. In the future they have rule the world. It’s better for you not knowing how the world gets under their domination,” explain Teru looking sad but also angry at the same time.

“I’ve come here to change what will happen in the future, to stop them conquering world, to stop people’s suffering. For that, I need your help, Hizaki. Please help me with your power,” said Teru. Hizaki keeps still.

“I know it’s hard to believe, but please believe me. I’m here is the best prove I have,” Hizaki looks at Teru.

“Do you know what period you’re going to go when they sent you?” ask Hizaki.

“Actually…no, they only said I will be sent to the past, but they didn’t tell me what period,” answer Teru.

“Figures, your cloth is too old for this period,” smiles Hizaki.  

“Hizaki, does it mean?”

“Yes, I will help you. I finally understand why I’m having the power. And if it can help people, I would love to use it,”

“Thank you, Hizaki! Thank you so much!” cheers Teru.

“And you’ve said rangers?”

“Yes,”

“I think I know who’d be the rest,” Teru’s eyes rounded.

“They all here in this school,” told Hizaki.

“And I will take you to them,” Teru stuns. He can’t believe that his assignment to look for the other rangers would be done only in a single place.

“Please, Hizaki-san. Could you take me to them?” ask Teru.

“With my pleasure, Teru-kun,” 

...

They go to a class where someone dressing in white is sitting at one bench. His feet are up in the table. He smells something in red color.

“Kamijo-san,” calls Hizaki enters the class and follow by Teru. Kamijo takes away the red rose from his face.

“Hime, I know you’re coming from the scent of your body,” said Kamijo without looking.

“And I also scent that you aren’t alone. You’re with a young and short boy, and also a fur?” Kamijo slowly turns around and stares to Teru. He sees Pi was cuddling at Teru’s leg.  

“Who is he?” ask Kamijo. Hizaki moves to him.

“Kamijo-san, this is Teru-kun. He comes from the future for us,” smiles Hizaki. Teru stuns. He isn’t sure that kind of introduction can be accepted by the blonde in front of him.

“Hmm, from the future eh,” said Kamijo calmly.

“And what’s a boy from the future be doing here?” Teru is surprise to see how very calm Kamijo knowing about his identity. Hizaki then tells the story.

“It may sound crazy, but it’s the truth. Please, join us, Kamijo-san. We need your power,” said Teru.

“Nope, I don’t want to,” said Kamijo. Teru surprises.

“Why?” Teru confused.

“First, I don’t like the name, Fantasy Rangers. It sounds cheesy. And second, I don’t want to trouble myself with this fighting stuff. It will ruin my beauty, the blood, the dust, the sweat. No thank you,” Kamijo smells the rose.

“But,”

“End of discussion,” said Kamijo.

“Kamijo-san,” Hizaki tries to persuade Kamijo.

“Even if Hime who ask, I won’t join the boy,” said Kamijo. Teru sigh. He doesn’t know what other way to convince Kamijo to join them. The reason of saving the world seems won’t work. Beside, Teru hasn’t known what kind of power that Kamijo has. Suddenly Pi mews and walk outside the class.

“Pi, where are you going?” ask Teru quickly follow Pi. Hizaki is on his tail. Kamijo just watch the two.  

...

Teru sees Pi entering a room. He follows in. It’s dark and has lots of stuff inside.

 “Pi, where are you?” calls Teru.

“Teru-kun,” calls Hizaki from the back.

“Pi is inside here,” told Teru.

“This room,” Hizaki looks around.

“It’s his place,” said Kamijo who’s already standing at the door. He covers his nose with a white handkerchief.

“Meow,” suddenly Pi makes a sound. A big and tall figure comes out from the darkness. Teru steps backward preparing himself for a sudden attack.

“It is Masashi-kun,” said Hizaki. The figure steps into the light so now Teru can see him better. The figure is really huge. Teru needs to look up to see his face. And he’s also looking scary. The figure looks at Teru sharply.

“Is it yours?” ask Masashi with a heavy voice. Teru nods to Pi who’s on Masashi’s embrace.

“It is the big dark guy who loves cats,” said Kamijo. Masashi looks sharply at him.

“Kamijo, what are you doing here?”

“That furry ball on your hand is belonging to the kid. As for myself, I don’t have any real business here, especially inside this dusty place of yours,” said Kamijo waving his handkerchief.

“Masashi-kun also has power,” told Hizaki. Teru stares at Masashi.

“His power related to strength. He’s so strong,” Hizaki smiles to Masashi who’s somehow looking shy.

“And he loves cats,” add Kamijo. Masashi and Teru smirked at him. Hizaki then told the same story to Masashi. They are all sitting at the floor of the dark room. Masashi caress Pi as he listens to Hizaki’s explanations, while Kamijo is leaning at the door.

“I see. I understand. I’ll join you,” said Masashi.

“Whoa~~ Thank you Masashi-san, with your help we will be stronger!” said Teru excited.

“I haven’t said I’ll join you, boy,” said Kamijo.

“Then the last one must be him,” said Hizaki.

“The prince,” said Masashi.

“Do you mean the last person? Where is he? We have to get him,” said Teru.

“Follow me,” said Hizaki.

...

They go to a kendo dojo. Someone inside is practicing kendo.

“Yuki-kun!” calls Hizaki. Yuki stops waving his stick.

“Hime,” Yuki moves to her.

“What can I do for you?” ask Yuki in a very polite way. He looks at Teru, Masashi who’s still carrying Pi, and Kamijo with his white handkerchief.

“Do they bring trouble for you?” Hizaki quickly shakes.

“No, I’m fine. I’m with them,” told Hizaki.

“You’re with these filthy people?” ask Yuki surprise.

“Who do you mean filthy?” objects Masashi.

“You dare to object me?” challenge Yuki.

“I do,” Masashi and Yuki comes forward and seem ready for a fight. Teru is confusedly thinking what to do. Hizaki wants to stop them, but Kamijo quickly get between the two. He puts his finger on Yuki’s armor.

“Hold yourself, Yuki-kun. It isn’t polite to fight in front of hime,” said Kamijo. Yuki and Masashi still. They look at each other viciously.

“You maybe the prince, but I am the king,” mumble Kamijo. Yuki turns to him and slowly move backward. Kamijo turns to Masashi.

“You also have to hold yourself,” Kamijo wipes his finger on Masashi’s long coat.

“And Yuki-kun, please do get to shower. It isn’t nice for a good looking like you being in sweat,” Kamijo covers his nose again and walk away. Teru keeps still watching the scene.

“Teru-kun, this is Yuki-kun. He’s the last one,” told Hizaki. Yuki looks at her.

“Hime,”

“Don’t worry, Teru-kun is the same with us, he has power,” smiles Hizaki.

“Yuki-kun has the power of sharpness and speed” told Hizaki to Teru. Hizaki repeats the story to Yuki.  

“It will be my pleasure to assist you,” said Yuki.

“You mean it? Thank you!” said Teru excited.

“It’s great, Teru-kun,” smiles Hizaki. Teru nods.

“It’s a job for stronger to protect people with no power. To help them, I’ll fight,” said Yuki.

“He’s a generous person, smart, good looking, and rich. But, you can’t ever beat my charm, Yuki-kun,” told Kamijo who’s leaning at one of the dojo’s wall. Yuki puts a face of ignoring.

“So what’s happen now after we all gather?” ask Hizaki.

“We must be prepared for what will come,” said Teru.

“What?”

“Us,” said someone. They all turn their look to one way. In front of them stand 4 big and looking strong people who viciously smirks at them.

“Who are they?” ask Masashi. Pi has gets down from him.

“Congratulation, Teru. You’ve manage to gather the rangers. Great job,” claps the 1^st person.

“You follow me here,” said Teru looking aware for every single attack.

“Of course, we just let you find the rangers. And after that we will kill all of you together,” said 2^nd person. Masashi and Yuki are also getting aware. They stand in front of Hizaki.

“Like I will let you to do so,” said Yuki. Masashi nods.

“Let’s just begin,” the 3^rd person moves forward and quickly hits Yuki on his face. Everyone surprise with the sudden attack. Teru quickly pulls out a book, open it, and slides the pages towards them, creating a continuously attack. The 3^rd person easily avoids it and eventually knocks him down. Masashi is facing the 2^nd person. Masashi tries to grab him but his opponent seems can moves away easily. 2^nd enemy smirked and kicks out Masashi against the wall. Yuki waves his stick with incredible speed but can be easily hold by 1^st person. The stick got flew away and Yuki was hit to the ground. Hizaki stands still, refuse to surrender with the fight.

“Only you left,” Hizaki stares sharply at the 4^th person that slowly approaches her.

“Too bad you have to die when things aren’t started. It’s the end,” 4^th person grabs Hizaki on the neck and squeeze it. Hizaki can’t breathe.

“You’ll die here and we will keep dominate the world,” suddenly a hand stops him. It’s Kamijo’s hand.

“Please hands off from her,” said him. The 4^th person ignores him and squeeze harder.

“You ask for it,” Kamijo grabs 4^th person’s arms and twist it. 4^th person screams and lose his grab on Hizaki’s neck. Hizaki falls down and cough.

“You dare to touch my princess, that I won’t ever forgive,” said Kamijo. He pulls out a red rose from his pocket, squeezes it into pieces, and blows it to the opponents. The roses flew surrounding the opponents then slowly falls down to the dojo’s floor.   

“What was that?” laugh 1^st person.

“Are you making a joke?” ask 2^nd person.

“A magic show maybe,” said 3^rd person. 4^th person only laugh. Kamijo smirks.

“You’ll see,” Kamijo walks to them. He opens his hand and a light coming out from it. The light grows long and it becomes a sword. Kamijo holds it tight and with calmly walk towards them. That’s when they realize something isn’t doing right. They can’t move.

“What the,” suddenly they can’t see Kamijo’s where about.

“One,” said Kamijo showing up behind the 1^st person and attacks him. 1^st person falls down to the floor.

“Two,” Kamijo kicks 2^nd person and he flew to the wall.

“Three,” Kamijo hits 3^rd person face, with bleeding nose he stays on the floor. Kamijo looks at the 4^th person who he has twisted the arm.

“And the last one,”

“Who are you?” ask 4^th person.

“Me? I’m just the school idol who likes to wonder around. Everything is doing fine until you showed up,” said Kamijo smiles and charge his final attack. Teru stuns watching him.

“He’s,”

“Strong,” said Hizaki stills holding her red neck. Yuki and Masashi try to stands up.

“Just like he said, he’s the king,” said Yuki.

“What’s his power?”

“Everything,” said Masashi.

“I have the ability to look far distant like Hizaki. I have the strength like Masashi. I have the power of speed and sharpness like Yuki. And I also have the ability of making weapons like you,” told Kamijo. Teru looks at Kamijo’s hand still holding the sword.

“The difference is, I can make weapons from everything around me. Not only from papers,” Teru gulp. He knows it. He has seen how Kamijo made the sword just by opening his hand.

“But my specialty is,” Kamijo pulls out another red roses and smell it.

“Spells,” said him. Teru finally understands the look from Masashi and Yuki toward Kamijo. It’s not the look of hatred but of fear and respect. They know how powerful Kamijo is. They also know that they can’t beat him.

“You have such great power, but why you won’t join us,” said Teru. Kamijo stills.

“I’ve change my mind,” said him.

“You will join us?” ask Teru in disbelieve.

“Why?”

“His words attract me,” with the rose Kamijo points at the 4^th person.

“What words?” ask Yuki. Kamijo smiles at him.

“To dominate the world,”

“We can fight them and then dominate the world,” told Kamijo.

“We?” ask Masashi.

“But, the name needs to be change. It really sounds too cheesy,” thinks Kamijo.

“Roses of Versailles,” said him.

“That’s sound nice. No, that sounds perfect,” Kamijo smiles alone.

“He’s in his own world again,” mumble Yuki. He turns to Teru.

“Who has sent you here, Teru-kun?” ask Yuki. Teru quickly look confused.

“I…I don’t know. I haven’t met the person personally. But,” Teru thinks for a while.

“All I know that the person is quite eccentric. He rarely shows up in front of people, and he also likes,” Teru stills and look at Kamijo who’s busy with his own thinking and smelling the rose at the same time.

“He likes roses, so much. His residence is full with red roses,” Teru looks closely at Kamijo and so does Hizaki, Yuki, and Masashi.

“Roses of Versailles, and we will dominate the world,” he held the rose up high.
